Date: 1937 Period: 1900-1937 File: PDF 5.3 MB, 140 pages

This special committee was appointed by Hon. Peter Fraser, Minister of Health, to investigate the provision of medical and other treatment services. The Committee comprised a number of MPs who surveyed a range of medical bodies and then held hearings where witnesses could provide additional evidence. The Committee proposed a scheme that was 'distinctly New Zealand' in approach, including special provision for Maori in certain districts.
