Independent, external Ministerial review of the Department of Work and Income (DWI), the reasons for its establishment, whether its objectives have been achieved and what further changes might be necessary to ensure DWI had the capacity to implement the new government's policies and programmes. Don Hunn, former State Services Commissioner, was appointed reviewer and was supported by a team he convened. Almost 1000 people contributed to the review in some way. The report is presented as an overview and includes a summary of findings and suggestions. A series of annexes cover some of the sources of information compiled and detailed comment on specific issues.
